Broadway just got a little bit dimmer.
British actress Lynn Redgrave, the star of "Georgy Girl" and "Gods and Monsters," 67, passed away Sunday night after fighting a seven-year journey with breast cancer.
She was our weekend guest when she spoke at the Centre College spring commencement in 1995. (She and Shelley are shown here.)
Lynn loved lapsang souchong tea. And she was delighted and surprised to have American hosts who understood the British need for tea - loose, strong, hot, and served in a proper English pot. With milk of course. She unashamedly consumed an entire pot every morning at breakfast.
Lynn’s father was Sir Michael Redgrave and her sister is Vanessa. Altogether, she stared in 13 Broadway plays. Recently Lynn made appearances in the television shows "Ugly Betty," "Law & Order" and "Desperate Housewives."
Lynn Redgrave, you will be missed. In your honor, Shelley and I will drink a cup of lapsang souchong this week.
